Short-Term Vehicle Graphics & Brand Activations

Temporary Vehicle Wraps for
Campaigns That Move

Plan a vehicle activation around the audience, location, launch date, and removal date. Hawk Wraps produces short-term graphics for product launches, pop-ups, events, seasonal promotions, film productions, and multi-vehicle campaigns across NJ, NYC, CT, and PA.

Temporary Wrap Basics

What Is a Temporary Vehicle Wrap?

A temporary vehicle wrap is a graphic system planned for a defined campaign window rather than open-ended fleet use. Coverage can range from door graphics and partial wraps to a complete activation design across cars, SUVs, vans, box trucks, trailers, and display vehicles.

Material selection depends on the vehicle surface, campaign length, expected mileage, weather exposure, storage, graphics coverage, and scheduled removal. “Temporary” does not mean one universal film or zero risk; suitability begins with inspecting the paint and matching the application to the manufacturer's limits.

Brands and agencies must also have written authorization for any vehicle they do not own. Rental, leased, employee, partner, dealer, and rideshare vehicles may have contract or platform restrictions, so approval should be confirmed before design or production begins.

Planned Installation & Removal

Removable Film Starts With the Right Surface and Timeline

We offer removable vinyl designed to release from sound, properly cured original-equipment paint without damaging it when installed and removed correctly. However, no installer can guarantee a damage-free result because the condition and history of the paint are not always visible.

Performance depends on the complete application: surface condition, paint history, selected product, exposure, installation method, campaign duration, and removal timing.

Sound original-equipment paint is generally the best candidate. Failing clear coat, rust, body repairs, fresh or non-factory paint, ceramic coatings, paint-protection film, textured plastics, and previously damaged panels require individual review and may not be suitable.

The film can create a temporary barrier against sun exposure, contaminants, and light abrasion, but it is not paint-protection film and cannot prevent dents, impacts, or damage already developing beneath the surface.

Our Removal Planning Standard

We document visible surface condition before installation, select film around the approved campaign window, record the planned removal date, and recommend professional removal. At removal, we inspect the graphics and underlying surface, then address ordinary adhesive residue with products appropriate for the film and finish.

Written Authorization for Vehicles You Do Not Own

  • Rental vehicles only when the rental company and contract permit graphics
  • Leased vehicles after reviewing modification and return terms
  • Employee vehicles with written owner consent
  • Dealer loaner or demonstration vehicles with dealer approval
  • Rideshare vehicles after confirming platform and owner requirements
  • Partner or borrowed fleet vehicles with written authorization

Why It Works

Why Brands Use Temporary Vehicle Graphics

Placed Where the Campaign Happens

Position the vehicle at a venue, retail district, route, production set, or pop-up instead of relying on a fixed media location.

Built Around the Launch Date

Artwork approval, production, installation, deployment, and removal are mapped backward from the requested campaign schedule.

Planned Removal

The film system and removal window are selected together, with surface documentation and professional removal recommended.

Supports Content Capture

One vehicle can serve as mobile media, an event display, and a consistent visual asset for campaign photography and video.

Scales Across Vehicle Types

Adapt approved creative across cars, SUVs, vans, trucks, trailers, and mixed activation fleets.

Temporary Wrap & Activation FAQs

How much does a temporary vehicle wrap cost?
Pricing depends on vehicle type and quantity, coverage, design readiness, material system, campaign duration, production schedule, installation logistics, and whether Hawk Wraps handles removal. Share the full campaign scope for an itemized quote.
How fast can you turn around a campaign wrap?
Turnaround depends on artwork status, vehicle availability, surface condition, material availability, quantity, coverage, proofing, and current production capacity. We work backward from the requested launch date and confirm a feasible schedule after reviewing the complete scope.
Will the wrap damage the vehicle's paint?
We offer removable vinyl designed to release from sound, properly cured original-equipment paint without damaging it when installed and removed correctly. However, we cannot guarantee a damage-free result because paint condition and history are not always visible. Failing clear coat, rust, body repairs, fresh or non-factory paint, coatings, paint-protection film, existing damage, exposure, and delayed or improper removal can affect the outcome.
How long can a temporary wrap stay on?
Campaign duration must stay within the selected film and laminate manufacturer's application and removal guidance. Surface type, mileage, weather, storage, cleaning, and horizontal exposure also matter. We select the system and removal date together rather than treating every temporary wrap the same.
Can you wrap vehicles I don't own?
Only with written authorization from the vehicle owner and confirmation that the lease, rental contract, dealer agreement, employer policy, or platform rules permit graphics. Approval should be secured before design or production, and the surface must still pass inspection.
Can you match our exact brand colors and guidelines?
We can work from brand guidelines, Pantone references, approved campaign assets, and supplied production files. Because screens, printers, films, laminates, and vehicle colors affect appearance, we use proofs and agreed color targets rather than promising that every material will reproduce identically.
Do you handle multi-vehicle activations?
Yes. We can adapt one approved campaign system across multiple vehicle types, label production files by unit, and coordinate installation in batches. Our 10,000 sq ft Linden facility supports in-house printing, lamination, and multi-vehicle scheduling.
What happens at the end of the campaign?
Removal should be scheduled within the planned window. Our team assesses the film, removes it using methods appropriate for the product and surface, cleans ordinary adhesive residue where needed, and inspects the underlying areas. Any pre-existing or newly visible surface issue is documented.
What vehicle surfaces are good candidates for removable vinyl?
Sound, clean original-equipment paint is usually the best candidate. Repainted panels, failing clear coat, rust, textured plastic, fresh paint, ceramic coatings, and paint-protection film require individual evaluation and may need adhesion testing or may be declined.
Is there any risk to the vehicle at all?
There is always some application and removal risk. Risk is lower on sound original-equipment paint when the correct film is installed and removed within its intended window, but concealed repairs, weak clear coat, aging paint, contamination, exposure, and delayed removal can affect the outcome.
Do you inspect the vehicle before and after?
Yes. We visually inspect and document accessible surface condition before installation. When Hawk Wraps performs the removal, we inspect the exposed areas again and can provide the campaign contact or vehicle owner with the available documentation.
