Our Story

Built Around the Work, Not a Sales Handoff.

Hawk Wraps started in 2001 as the vehicle-graphics division of Signs Corp Group, a family-owned sign & graphics company. What began as commercial vehicle lettering grew, as vinyl technology evolved, into full wraps, partial wraps, fleet systems, temporary graphics, and branded environments — and eventually into its own brand.

The operating idea has stayed simple: the people who plan the artwork should be close to the people who print and install it. Keeping those stages connected makes it easier to resolve panel geometry, equipment conflicts, color targets, deadlines, and fleet variations before they become field problems.

Today, our Linden production studio supports projects ranging from a single owner-operator vehicle to coordinated multi-vehicle rollouts for businesses across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Regional inquiries begin remotely, then vehicle intake and installation are scheduled around the approved scope.

Timeline

Milestones

A quarter-century of evolving with the vinyl industry — from hand-cut lettering to full-color cast vinyl.

2001

Signs Corp Group launches its wrap division

Signs Corp Group — a family-owned sign & graphics company — spun up a dedicated commercial vehicle lettering and graphics division out of its Brooklyn, NY shop. A two-person team working hand-cut vinyl on small-format plotters.

2004

First multi-vehicle fleet contract

Took on the division's first fleet program — a 12-vehicle food distribution operation that needed coordinated cut-vinyl lettering across box trucks and delivery vans.

2007

Moved into large-format printing

Invested in the first wide-format printer and pivoted from cut-vinyl lettering to printed wraps — full-color graphics on cast vinyl.

2010

Became a 3M Certified Installer

Completed 3M Authorized Graphics Installer training and began offering the 3M MCS Warranty on qualifying installations — with lamination and installation brought fully in-house.

2013

Opened the Linden, NJ production facility

Consolidated production into a 10,000 sq ft facility in Linden, NJ — a dedicated design studio, climate-controlled install bays, and capacity for commercial trucks up to 26 feet.

2016

Wrapped our 500th commercial vehicle

Crossed 500 commercial vehicles wrapped — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, delivery, and food-service clients across NJ, NYC, and PA.

2019

Extended coverage across the tri-state

Grew planning and installation for customers across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania — regional carriers and the I-81 corridor into Northeast PA, alongside the original Brooklyn, NY service base.

2023

The division relaunches as Hawk Wraps

The vehicle-wrap division took its own name and identity — Hawk Wraps — under the family-owned Signs Corp Group, sharpening the focus on commercial wraps and fleet graphics.

Materials & Certifications

Material Selection Starts With the Vehicle and Use.

We work with established vehicle-graphics films from 3M, Avery Dennison, and Oracal. The recommended film and laminate depend on the surface, coverage, exposure, operating environment, desired finish, removal plan, and applicable warranty terms.

3M Certified Installer

3M Authorized Graphics Installer. We use 3M IJ180Cv3 cast vinyl as our default fleet material, with the optional 3M MCS Warranty backing qualifying installations.

Avery Dennison Partner

Authorized installer for Avery MPI 1105 Easy Apply RS and Avery Supreme Wrapping Film. Often used on color-change wraps and personal vehicle applications.

Oracal Pro Installer

Oracal 3951RA cast vinyl for color-change applications and Oracal 970RA for high-performance fleet work. Pro Installer Network member.

Mactac Authorized

Mactac IMAGin JT cast vinyl for specialty applications including textured walls and oversized graphics. Authorized installer for premium architectural materials.

Fully Insured

$2M general liability, $1M commercial auto, full workers compensation coverage. Insurance certificates and W-9s provided within 24 hours for corporate and fleet accounts.

The Team

A Connected Team for Design, Production & Installation.

Designers, print and lamination operators, installers, scheduling, and fleet coordination work from one production system. That shared context helps preserve approved artwork, vehicle records, color targets, and rollout decisions across the life of a project.

Design Studio (3)

In-house designers adapt your brand assets to vehicle templates. Every wrap is built to scale on the specific OEM template — Sprinter 144" HR, Transit 350 mid-roof, ProMaster 2500 standard, etc.

Print & Lamination (3)

Operators run our large-format printers and UV lamination line. Every panel quality-checked against the master proof before it leaves the production room.

Installation Team (6)

3M Certified installers. Each technician trained on premium cast vinyl, ladder rack work, corrugated panel installs, and the full range of commercial vehicle surfaces.

Fleet Program Manager

Dedicated project manager for fleet projects of 10+ vehicles. Owns the rollout schedule, color-match across batches, and communication with your operations team.

Operations & Scheduling

Coordinates intake, scheduling, materials ordering, and customer communication across our four-state service area. One production schedule connects the quote, proof, installation, and delivery stages.

Sales & Quoting

Customer-facing sales handles inquiries, quotes, and facility tours. We don't use call centers or outsourced sales — every call is answered by someone who works at the Linden facility.

How We're Different

What to Compare When Choosing a Wrap Partner

Look beyond the headline price. Ask who owns the design files, which film and laminate are specified, how surfaces are inspected, who installs the graphics, how vehicle variants are documented, and what the proposal says about repairs, removal, and warranties.

About Hawk Wraps

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hawk Wraps family-owned?
Yes. Hawk Wraps has been family-owned since founding in 2001. We've remained independent rather than join a national franchise chain because the long-term local relationships are what built this business — and franchising would change that structure.
Where do you actually do the work?
Our standard production workflow takes place at the 10,000 sq ft studio in Linden, NJ. That includes design, large-format printing, UV lamination, vehicle preparation, installation, and inspection. Our city and state pages describe service markets, not additional Hawk Wraps offices, pickup points, or drop-off locations.
Do you outsource any of the work?
No. Design, print, lamination, and install are all in-house. We've built the operation specifically to avoid the inconsistency that comes from sending files to a print broker or hiring freelance installers. Every wrap is produced by people we employ.
What's the typical timeline for a wrap project?
Single vehicle: 10–14 days from approved design to finished install. Small fleet (2–5 vehicles): 2–4 weeks. Large fleet rollouts (10+ vehicles): 4–12 weeks depending on size, with staggered intake so most of your fleet stays on the road. Lead times are confirmed at the inspection / quote stage.
Do you offer fleet pricing?
Yes. 3–5 vehicles: 10% volume discount. 6–10 vehicles: 15%. 11–25 vehicles: 20%. 25+ vehicles: custom pricing, typically 20–25%. Volume pricing also applies across mixed fleets (vans + trucks + trailers in the same rollout).
Can I tour the Linden facility?
Yes — facility tours are welcome and we encourage them for fleet customers. You'll see the design studio, large-format printers, lamination room, and install bays. Most prospective fleet customers visit before committing to a 10+ vehicle program. Schedule through our contact form or by phone.
